Best Jupiter so far!

This one is by far my best Jupiter but probably not my best processing, I have to go pick the in-laws up soon so am a bit rushed.

It's all in the seeing I guess and to be honest I wish I didn't have the house underneath leaking heat too. Still it's a lovely Jupiter for me and there is detail that I have not managed before.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to reprocess and see if I can't improve things, may even give winjupos a try.

Thanks Michael, I kind of cheated and just used the AS!2 sharpened images as they looked better than what I was sharpening. Plus it was the quickest way.

It's taken a while to get that result though, I think the 150PL and asi120mm used natively(no barlow) exist in some kind of sweet spot.

Huge leap there Jarrod - very nice indeed. Well worth having another play at sharpening in R6 - it will give you more! Try searching for a linked wavelets tutorial as this works very well and is relatively quick and easy.

Cheers, yeah I will be having another play as I did rush the process yesterday. I have a few different tutorial to go through and Mr Peach's DVD.

I have had better results using astraimage decon but the free version doesn't have a lot of options and converts everything to greyscale, think I may shell out for the latest version.

I got a copy of Mr Peach's excellent dvd as a late Christmas present - some useful stuff here, but more of an introduction than master class, though very worthwhile and reassuring.

What eyepieces are you using? What's your magnification with the eyepiece as well? I've had some good pics of Jupiter but you can't make out the stripes and red spot. Just a ball of light and a few moons. Just wondering if it's possible to see jupiter like this with my set up. I have an Orion StarBlast 450mm Reflector Scope. Eyepieces: 15mm, 6mm, and 3.2mm. Please let me know! Thanks!
