Meade 5000 24mm review

Hi guys. Just thought of droping a lign about the 5000 24mm.

This EP was my 1st upgrade to the Astromaster's retail EPs, the improvement on the views was so huge i'm afraid I might overrate the EP ))

The thing I like the most is It's clarity/brightness, the sky goes instantly from real dark to dark-grey! I dont feel contrast is diminuished as M31 shows very clearly!

I Love the EP and would recommend it, i honestly dont have any cons. to point out but would love to hear from you guys!

Hi, if it's the uwa your talking about, agree it's a great EP one of my favourites, also have the 8.8 and 6.9mm . Would certainly not swap it out, really like the design and nice to hold too [emoji1]

How do you feel about the 8.8mm?? Have you tried it on DSO??

I like the others too, though I don't tend to use as much due to seeing conditions. The 8.8 is fine for some dso but you do loose contrast and objects do appear 'dimmer' hence i tend to stick mainly down to 12mm. Having said that , when I look at moon and planets I use 8.8 more, they certainly dont disappoint:)

The Meade 24mm UWA is my favourite large field eyepiece. With the light pollution round her, higher FL eps give a far too "washed out" sky.
