Orion nebula now in Technicolor! :)

Hi guys!

Finally had the chance to grab the color for my M42 image, I used my TEC cooled Canon 450D and shoot 24x120 sec. frames at 400 ISO, then used the Ha data from my previous session with the mono 350D and blend the data using the Ha for luminance set at about 60% smile.gif

I know this is not the correct aproach, using Ha for luminace is asking for trouble with colors...but hey, I think it came out nice considering this was done from a city literally under the street lamps wink.gif

Let me know what you think?

Thx!

Loads of good data, plenty of the fainter stuff to. But if I'm honest it's a bit to saturated for my tastes. Both the blue and red channels are a bit to rich in fact to the point that as already mentioned it's killing the running man. But overall excellent stuff.

Thanks guys for the feedback wink.gif

I must confess I went a little crazy on this one, strong colors are really not my thing but it enhances the nebula structures for sure wink.gif

Here goes a more "natural" aproach, still using the 350D mono with Ha for luminance:

Cheers,
