The Sun - 20th Dec 2014

Lovely clear morning, unfortunately now I have to wait until around 12:00 for the Sun to clear the trees. By that time cloud was rolling in and I had to dodge the last of the tree branches and passing clouds. Still only a couple of weeks until it gets noticeably higher in the sky

Grabbed 175 frames over the course of about half an hour between clouds, stacked 44 of them. Worth persisting as seeing was better than average.

Nice to see folks getting some rays today, don't think I'll be doing much 'till after Christmas now, but must have a look for Comet C/2012 Q2 Lovejoy over Christmas.

Excellent David, nice detail and great exposure, a true winter gem. Hope you get some good images in over the festive break. Me, unlike other Robins I am flying a long way south and a fair bit west for some winter sun, so after a couple of days down (travelling) I should be back imaging.

Dave at my holiday latitude, I should be able to see Comet Lovejoy next week, hopefully will find time to give it a go, especially if it is in view from our balcony, otherwise it will have to wait until I am back.
