Trying out my new Solar Continuum Filter this morning, I got an airliner as a bonus!

I'm still busy processing all the AVI's shot this morning. Seeing started out quite poor at 9:30 to 10:00, but began to improve after that.

I think that plane needs a service, there is thick black smoke coming out of the back!

Looks like it's on a one way trip to oblivion , I've heard of jetting of for some Christmas sun but that's a bit scary ...

Here's my white light Sun image from this morning, taken about an hour later than the airliner. Despite how the seeing started out, it improved and gave plenty of detail in the disc. 100 DSLR images taken, PIPP thinned them to 70, and 48 were stacked. One in false colour for those who like a bit of colour in their lives.

Contrails were a pain our way yesterday. Even though it was windy at gound level (and jogging my scope around, grrrrr!) contrails hung in the air for an age. One particular one messed about with the Sun for a good while! Wait for the Sun to clear the rooftops, for the clouds to shift, and then a plane comes and dumps a thick trail over it!!

As it turned out, we got a big clear patch anyway, phew!
