HEQ5 handset problem

Hi,

Just went to take the mount out for its 2nd run, the handset did 3 bleeps and said "No link to MC stand alone mode". I tried to slew but nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

This indicates a poor connection between the mount and the handcontroller.

Take the connections apart and reconnect again to see if this resolves the issue.

Possible causes:-

1. faulty cable

    a. break in cable

    b. faulty plug at one end

2. faulty socket on either the handcontroller or mount

If you can, borrow a cable from another HEQ5 owner to try.

Check all leads, but I think its the motherboard my one was the mainboard.

As mentioned, check the leads and connections, Failing that, the  "turn off and back on" method is surprisingly effective.

I had the same problem, and i my case motherboard was fired. A new one cost me £100 :/ Check if polar scope is lid. If not it is motherboard. Good luck
