Nothing grand but...

Saw Jupiter using my 7x40s the other night so had a look just a few minutes ago now the streetlights have been dimmed, and I could still see it despite the hazy cloud.  The moon was obscured by the same load of mist but details popped out every now and then which was nice.

As per the title, nothing grand just a quick look by a noob.

Am loving Stellarium by the way, great program. The other evening my 5 year old daughter was blown away that the dots on the computer screen were actually out in the sky over the back garden!  Think we might both be using my scope when it eventually arrives!

Need more clear skies please...

Nice one. Always good to grab a peek at the stars whenever you can, doesn't have to be with a scope.

I often pop out for ten minutes with the binos if it's clear and lie on the sun lounger for a quick fix.

Its always woth a peek at Jupiter.

When the scope comes there are lots of Gallilean moon events this/next month. I managed to catch

an occultation of IO by Ganymede last night (post).
