What camera's are good for TA1100-102 telescopes

Recommended Posts

For meteor showers you do not want a scope.

Try camera on a tripod, full aperture, short focal length so wide field, focus = infinity and iso probably 800 or more. Take exposures of say 10 seconds and hope that in that 10 seconds a meteor goes through - most will not have anything in them.

You cannot wait to see a meteor then go click, it will have passed. You will need a remote release for the camera.

welcome to sgl and plus 1 to what ronin says if you want use a camera on your scope you might want to try putting a webcam on your scope and imaging the moon or jupiter its trickier without a motor on your mount but it can be done

Camera on tripod wide angle lens, set camera on continuous shooting 10-15 secs depends on light pollution, experiment to see how long you can expose, make sure you've got lot's of room on your memory card, I only do JPEGS as there's no need for RAW.

Don't get too disappointed if you don't catch any, last years Persieds I had two cameras running for hours and caught zilch
