My patio pier

Recommended Posts

My plan is to make a patio pier for minimum cost using bits and pieces lying around! (I'm a bit of a hoarder).

The brake discs were found in the scrap bin of my local mechanic. I drilled these to take 16mm threaded rod and welded a peg for az. adjustment.

I'll post the follow up later.post-23638-0-23677800-1417024150_thumb.j

The base is an old post thumper which was made from a section of gas pipeline wth a flange.

This will be rawl bolted to the patio. The column is a piece of roadsign post which just happens to fit inside the post thumper.

(Apologies for doing this in separate posts but I have problems posting more than one picture and text with this tab!)

This is it's final resting place and bolted to the patio with 12mm rawlbolts. These go through the slabs into concrete below.
