Astronomers at Work

Here's a couple 25 second shots I took with my kit lens wide open during a marathon imaging session on Sunday night. Started at 6:30 and didn't pack up until 3:30 in the morning.

The Plough over Caradon Observatory.

Am down in Cornwall for the week and have been very lucky with the weather, had another good session on Monday as well. 21.28 was the best reading on a sky quality meter, virtually no cloud but quite a bit of moisture in the air. I kept two cameras going with a variety of lenses, my own and the observatory's modded 100D. Dew was my biggest problem. Had to keep an eye on them and swap out the lenses as required as my dew strap hasn't turned up yet. Hit a variety of targets at between 17mm and 200mm focal length. At this rate I'll be processing data until the new year, a nice problem to have.
