FSQ-106ED & Binoviewing

When I was picking out my scope I read a review on cloudynights forum which really sold me on the FSQ. It's common knowledge that it's a good AP scope, but the review centered more around its strengths as a visual scope. No real detail was given concerning the binoviewing as the review was about the scope, but the photos stuck with me and made me VERY curious as to what the experience would be like. Anyone have any experience with this setup or similar?

I've never looked through my 106 though the FSQ85 was ludicrously competent visually. I could see the Hamburger in the Leo Triplet which ain't bad for 85mm. I think it's all down to contrast, which is superb.

A guest did once bring a high end binoviewer and two 13 Ethos EPs which we popped in the TEC140. The view was sublime, and I'm not always partial to binoviewers.

I keep looking at the TEC 140 and then the price, they give nothing away with it, not even scope rings, so case and other bits hurts even more. One of the top 5 scopes though, any advances Olly?

Alan.

I'm not au fait with the current prices but, when I bought mine, it was the premium apo deal of the century coming in way below Takahashi and AP. If it isn't as good I don't think there can be much in it. They go for about 4000 euros second hand. I bought mine in GBP for £3850 including rings and Scopeguard case. It was literally, totally and absolutely indistinguishable from new. I'll be happy to talk about it more but we are into thread creep here, perhaps. PMs no problem.

Absolutely correct Olly , I have taken the thread away from the Tak 106, sorry to the OP. I wonder looking at the photos at the top of the thread if the weak link in this chain may well be the bino-viewers, I know Dennis from Croatia was saying some the Baader's  were not all they were cracked up to be, however there are different models or them.

It was something I was going to do myself, bought the extra 24mm Panoptic while in England and forgot the bino-viewers, it's a good job I didn't forget my head.
