Horsehead-Flame-and u no wot!

First outing late last night as Orion cleared my neighbour's monster willow tree this autumn on M42 [20s], Flame [60s] and Horsehead [3m =3x60s] via Lodestar-Cx2 on my DIY piggybacked 10cm f/4.5 Lensless Schmidt [below] using SX s/ware.  

Each nebula an order-of-magnitude fainter and more difficult to capture although Horsehead clearly recorded in just 60s. Hope it's of interest - more stuff around the sky from session soon

Nice results. I know very well how faint the HH is, having only seen it just once from a VERY dark site

Nice to see the old favourites back in the sky!

I've still yet to get a reasonable "view" of the horsehead - one for this Autumn I think.

I was imaging those last night too, tricky keeping Anitak from blowing out with it being so bright and right in there with the faint nebula.

Great stuff!

A good night was had here too... Both clouds AND dew held off.

But I still don't think the stars look as bright as in my youth! lol

Managed to get quick (100 x 2.56s) images of 20+ targets.

Hi All,

Sounds like clear skies were contagious last night. Had them here in Hawaii, too, after several weeks of clouds and vog. Was able to view some DSO's with the Lodestars and got some captures. If any turn out decent, I'll post them. Nice work as usual, Nytecam. I can never resist slewing over to Orion and it's neighbors.
