Photoshop or Maxum for processing?

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I am early in my astrophotography hobby. The question is in the long run should I take the time to learn photoshop now. It is a big learning curve to learn Maxum for the astrophoto part. It seems I can do all the processing in Maxum as well but I notice many use photoshop. I could get photoshop now and learn processing in that instead of maxum if it would be better in the long run. I could take a survey and count replies to see what most of you think.

Thanks

PS is very expensive for what it does for astronomy...

Check out the latest PaintShopPro, it has 99% the same functionality and can use the favourite PS plug-ins.

I use AstroArtV5 for acquisition, control and image processing.
