cpc deluxe 1100. Price to good to be true?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Currently have a Nexstar 4se which is great for transporting around with me and work.  Though it does drift a little over time

I've gone halfs on a skywacher EQ6 mount (Old type) and we have recently upgraded this with goto upgrade kit. It support a 10 ins reflector, WOW a big difference.  At some point in the near future it will no longer be mine.

To that end I was looking for a upgrade, and I found this:

http://ecamcor.com/celestron-cpc-deluxe-1100-hd-computerized-telescope.html

Having had a look around its a lot cheaper than else where, and far far cheaper than anything we can buy here in OZ.

Has anyone come across this site before, are they legit?

I am looking at doing some deep sky stuff, and I like the dual fork arms for stability.  Was going to hook it up to a good guide scope, but thats a question for another day.

Not to impressed with the EQ6 setup and polar aligning (When it not cloudy).  Thus far its a lot of work and no reward.  The 4se on the other hand is level up and go!!!

Looks entirely scammy to me, quite often you get these type of sites set up.

The address given and that shown on google maps just shows a house, no electronics or optical store and the IP address is based in the US not Indonesia.

Personally I would steer clear.

Though this is outside ebay, it has the qualities of a great scam. Jarrod has it above in both the IP range and allocation.

I have in the last month reported more than a dozen listings to ebay for fraudulent listings of high end astro gear. The most popular are Meade SCT's, Celestron SCT's and then Apo refractors. All encourage a buy it now price and a bid process where you go outside ebay. Beware.
