Hello

I started to build new remote controlled observatory. I wrote a small blog about it. Its still under construction and the writing about technical stuff is unfinished. Here is the link http://frostlandobservatory.galleria.fi/blog/4/Astronomical+Observatory+construction+Part+1:+basic+structures/

Doh! The blog opening date was 11.11 but its now visible to everyone.

Thank you wxsatuser and Mr Spock!

It started snowing here yesterday, so soon it will be seen how nicely the roof will move under snow load.

I made the second part ready for reading, subjects are: Roof motorizing, controller unit, remote booting and monitoring the imaging session.

Here it is http://frostlandobservatory.galleria.fi/blog/6/Astronomical+Observatory+Construction+Part2:+Roof+opener+&+remote+control+system./

That's a very nice M1 image Jussie_K, and the observatory looks fantastic! How did the roof cope with the snow?

 Thank you melsmore!

Roof moves quite ok, but when there is like 20cm snow and -25 temperature, the grease at wheels start be very stiff. Also there is some weld`s which needs to get flatten, other side rail needs to be moved bit wider. But everything works, so I do these improvements at summer.

Hi,

I started making my obsy more modern and more automated at this summer.

-Rain sensor

-UPS

-Ascom compatible roof movement and sensors

-Qhy 5 II L based Allsky cam

There is also painting job for the roof and walls.

The Obsy has cost to me about 1804 euros.

here is the link for the small article http://frostlandobservatory.galleria.fi/blog/

More is coming.

Very nice :)  I don't wish to be negative, but I'd love to see that in colour.  I have a colour QHY 5 L II in my ASC but we very rarely see the aurora this far south.  I did catch it once as just a faint pink glow to the north.
