The North American & Pelican nebulae in Cygnus form earlier this week. Nasty, windy conditions so scraped a few subs in the process.

NGC7000 + IC5070 4x180s 6" GSO F4 Newtonian working at F2.9, Fuji IS Pro DSL @ ISO1000, dark sky site in Mid Wales.

Not sure what the strang artifact is lower left- it appears in all the frames from this session. Either a weird diffraction effect or the camera is developing a fault?

I have had a similar diffraction spike on some of my images. I think it is stray light entering from the view finder.

Have you tried covering the finder? Masking tape or something similar.

Possible- but I've been using this camera for two years and not seen it before. The rig is new(ish) though- I kind of thinking it's something that happens when there is a bright star nearby, but out of frame- in this case Deneb.
