Another little group of fuzzies - Triangulum Trio

A clear night...Dark by 8pm...no moon....I could not resist.

Looking for new galaxies to observe around Perseus / Aries and Triangulum..

Started with NGC 1003 in Perseus ...quite near NGC 1023 but much fainter. A low surface brightness oval with averted vision and tough to spot even in my 14 inch.

Then went for NGC 1167 which was actually easier but still required AV.

NGC 794 was my most distant catch tonight. Faint but easy enough with AV to see. It is a large elliptical galaxy about 385 million light years away.

BUT the top view tonight goes to the group of galaxies in Triangulum..

I could see NGC 978A (bright) and also NGC 969 and NGC 974 although this was at the limit of visibility tonight..

Its a nice Trio in the eyepiece..

Try it! Its well placed at the moment.
