Saturn & Moon close shave!

It was actually an occultation but I had a bit of trouble locating the moon due to thin cloud and daylight so when I did find it the occultation had finished but both were still in the same FOV.

Not exactly the greatest of representations as it was extremely low down, daylight and I was shooting through some spikey palm thing but I was happy to catch it, it was a first for me anyway.

Thank you all!

Bet that was tricky to capture, looks really good

Quite tricky, I wouldn't of attempted imaging so low down if it wasn't for the special occasion. I even had to move the drinks from the table as they were in the way.

You managed to catch this in daylight? Were you actually able to see Saturn with the unaided eye?

It was daylight turning into twighlight which why also why I missed the start because I had trouble locating the Moon. As it got darker I could slightly see Saturn on the edge with the naked eye but I think if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't of noticed it.

You deserve a medal for that with the handicaps presented - I like your description of that "spikey palm thing!" :)
