aaaarggggh! Lunar occultation-clouds stop play

Got everything set, great big clear patch......then 10 minutes before the start the clouds rolled in yet again....this is a frustrating country to do astronomy in.

I caught the end of it, missed the occultation but got them in the same FOV. I had trouble finding the moon in the daylight.

Excited for this one,

All set up at 15.30 !

Nice clear skies but so bright no moon evident yet.

Worked out in 90 mins the sun would be behind a house,

so I would stand a better chance,

Then 15 mins before 5 those clouds rolled in, big thick heavy ones,

I still spent the next hour sat with the scope , just in case !

Well, germany isn't any better, either :-) But there WILL be starlight... eventually!
