Monster sunspot AR2192 25/10/14

This spot is running away with itself. I thought it was big when it was just on our side for a couple of days:

but here it is six days later about double the size. Quite astonishing. Unfortunately I only got about 15 minutes for this sketch and no time for a close up.

If you get a chance tomorrow, make the effort to have a look.

Excellent comparison from a different perspective.

Definitely worth chancing the gaps for a glimpse of this one.

This group is amazing.  It is the largest group I've seen in 35 years of observing though I don't really do alot of solar observing.  During the recent partial eclipse, while I was setting up, I glanced at the sun through just the filter and I thought there was something on my filter.  I very surprised at how conspicuous it was at 1x!
