Hi everyone, my name is Den and I am new to astronomy.

I have just purchased a Sky-Watcher 130p and I am really looking forward to getting statrted.

I am now in my late 50s, and I am in semi retirement due the health problems, I have had an interest in astronomy for as long as I can remember, but up until now I have never owned a telescope.

I look forward to interesting conversations in the future.

Den

Hi Den, a very warm welcome to the Lounge.  I retired about four years ago because of ill health, it's a pain isn't it?  Since then I have not been able to use my big scope (the 200P but my frac serves me well.  The SW 130P is a good place to start, not too big and not too small.  Enjoy your new found hobby, it is certainly consuming for me.

Hi Den & welcome to SGL.

The 130P was my first scope and got me hooked on this great hobby.

Hope it will for you too.Any questions you may have just ask away, there's plenty of friendly folk here to help.

Goodluck & clear skies.
