Shipping in Canada

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I wondered if anyone had any experience shipping their scope across the country? I mean, I'm in Canada, but wondered which company would be best (aka cheapest) and would treat it with most care. Canada Post, Fedex, or UPS? I'm wondering price point too. I have to get my 10" dobsonian to go from BC to Ontario... Not really sure how much it'll cost, hopefully not a lot. Almost seems like selling it and finding another scope when I'm there would be a better option, however I have a limited amount of time to ship it, so I wondered if anyone had any experience shipping theirs.

Thanks!

I can't help but we have our very own gentleman from Canada who's called jetstream. He's an absolutely sound fellow and I'm sure he'll be only too happy to help  If he doesn't reply here within a day or two, drop him a private line.

Just updating here: I ended up going UPS, they packaged it and I got insurance. It wasn't that expensive considering I'm shipping a 10" dob across Canada, and I want it there in one piece! Thanks Qualia!

Good choice. Ive had many deliveries from UPS and never had a problem. On the other hand, ive seen video nasties of another BIG company you mentioned and how some of their delivery guys treat packages.
