With £100 and the idea to get better there seems to be 3 options:

1) Get 3 Vixen NPL's (plossl eyepieces, FLO)

2) Get 2 BST Starguiders, Skys the Limit.

3) Get 1 Celectron X-Cel, FLO.

There are Skywatcher planetaries but they are only in the shorter focal lengths.

Thinking option (3) is incorrect, there are a number of single eyepieces, TV plossl, Antares W70's and I guess others.

Getting 1 eyepiece seems a little pointless.

So that leaves 3 NPL plossl's or 2 BST's.

I have the BST's and am happy with them, they will also do for any future scope upgrade, so would the NPL's.

I would go with the BST's, you get one less then the NPL's but they deliver fair eye relief and are parfocal. And to be honest they look good. Which 2 is the question, try 18mm and which ever is close to the f number of your scope, which I guess is about the 8mm.

BST Starguiders are very good, and very good value for money, try to work out

what you observe the most, then decide which two to choose, if you like them

and i'm sure you will, it's worth having at least three, and being parfocal you don't

need to re-focus much, they are well worth a try, the wide field of view is very good,

and if you don't wear glasses while observing, the turn the twist up eyecup up to

suit your view, it makes it very comfortable to view through, try this link it will help

you to understand more about eyepieces  http://www.swindonstargazers.com/beginners/eyepieces.htm

hi amd welcome to sgl. I haven't used a bst but from what i have heard think they will be spot on for your needs. 18 I also agree, the 25mm stock ep should do fine for now however with a barlow there could be consideration fr a 12mm insrtead of the 8 as this prvides more options. 18-9 and 12-6 with the 2x barlow.

1000/6mm gives you x188 which i wuld think will be about as high as this would go, not sure though if this might be overdoing it, little more research on this maybe. sorry
