Still visible 'naked eye' but even more remarkable through a scope in white light. Not just big but a beautiful archipelago of spots surrounded by a lagoon of penumbra. Apologies for the purple prose - but it is quite nice!

Wonderful description Kerry :-). It is rather spectacular isn't it!

It's popped out a few times here through breaks in the clouds and it is certainly impressive. It was visible (naked eye, no filter) in a reflection off wed mud near my house.

Chris

That's impressive!!!

Just had a quick look myself with eclipse glasses. It is very obvious, clearly huge! Too windy to put any kit out here unfortunately :-(

Too windy here too - I used my DSLR with 300mm lens + baader filter.

Dave

Well it's very windy at the moment, probably got blown across to the other side ;-)

Nice this end, both day and night. Some 30ºC out today, nice dark, blue skies, cool mountain breeze and the leafy fields are really beginning to take on yellow and orange hues with the coming harvest of lemons and oranges. The sun has one, if not the most complex sun spots I've ever seen. Real tricky to sketch accurately, virtually impossible for me, so decided to give it an artistic impression :p
