AZ4 mount for a lunt 60tha

Could anyone with this mount tell me the measurements to the place where the scope would be with the legs at there lowest? Is the aluminium version just as stable as the steel version too? Thanks

Your looking around 105cm to the centre of the holder arm, about 41inch... I've not checked it but I reckon extending the legs will add about 8inch...

I don't think the alu legs is as stable as the steel but if your not overloading it I'm not sure you'll notice too much difference in the dampening time...

There's one for sale in the classifieds... Or there was... Worth a look...

Much better with the 1.75 stainless steel tripod, very stable for refractors up to 90mm, my TAL100 f10 is just at the limit, hence i am upgrading to the skytee 2 

I used to mount a Vixen 80 f11 and it was very stable on this mount

The ALU version is great for short tube scopes - maks, PSTs and the like - but I'm told you need the steel version for longer scopes. ALU works a treat with a 5" mak for instance.

Thanks guys for the info, a steel version it is then. ( can't afford the one in the classifieds as the extra for the lunt 60 has wiped me out. Looks like a Xmas present from my other half maybe
