Win7 should have no problem with the camera, don't bother with the software, I didn't.

Then in FREE SharpCap2 under the Cameras menu select your SPC900 otherwise it might default to your built in web cam, which can be a little disconcerting when you find yourself 'Astro coverted' looming out of the screen. ;) East/West converted.

Thanks again for all this advice/guidance. Glad I joined SGL, but that was 2 yrs ago but only now have I realised benefits of posting & engaging. I am not a techno-buff and all this computer stuff is not something I really relate to but I never shirk a challenge, but perhaps I should sometimes.

Lenovo is probobly the best laptop you can get, so it should not be any problems with that. Especially if you got a professional laptop like T or X series. I have only got X series laptop and I only got two laptops in my life, the first one still works perfectly and its a X41 from 2005 and I got it seven years before I upgraded to my current X220.

The recommended capture software is Firecapture, Sharpcap and VX Astrocapture. I prefer Firecapture but Sharpcap is very competent too!
