what did I see ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all not been around for a while, but I had to return to ask you if there have been any reports of nova/supernova because tonight between 7.20 and 7.30 while walking the dog looking north I saw what at first I thought was an iridum flare, but the object was stationary and It got I would say brighter than Venus and then over about the next minute it faded away and almost out of sight , because of the light pollution it became difficult to see, the star was in the area outlined below,

Any one else see this

I'm not sure that a  nova/supernova lasts only a few minutes .
