TeleVue 2.5 mm EP

Anyone of you guys have any experience with this EP.  I was thinking of getting it for my TV NP-101 (4" apo).  At present for high power I use my 2x barlow on my 8 & 6 mm delos which gives me 4 and 3 mm, respectively.  The 4 always works well and there are enough times when I can use 3 on planets.  I am uncertain how the 2.5 would work on planets (maybe make the view a bit slow) but thinking of its use mainly for splitting stars. Thanks for your opinions and feedback. allen

If you mean the 2.5 type 6 Nagler then yes I used to have one.

Lovely eyepiece, and I think it would work very well in your scope. I only sold mine because it was just too much in all my scopes ie too high powered, but would give x216 in yours which would be useful reasonably frequently I would think.

Nice sharp ep, normal TV quality :-)

Like Stu, I've had the Nagler T6 2.5mm. It's a great quality eyepiece but it was too much power in my scopes and I found that I got rather severe "floaters" when I used it due to the tiny exit pupil. 3mm is now the shortest FL eyepiece that I have and thats a Radian. That gives 221x with my Vixen ED 102 and 300x with my ED 120 which are useful for busting those tight binary stars

I have a Nagler T6 2.5mm which I use occasionally and a 3.5mm T6 that I use about twenty times more often. I use them both in a TV101. The very best planetary views (especially Mars) and best double (pi Aquilae) splits are with the 2.5mm but normally the 3.5mm gives the better views. Despite it's relatively infrequent use I would never sell the 2.5mm.
