which file

Hi all,

Please could someone tell me what the best file is to transfer to registax if my pics are taken in raw? Or is it best to send them to registax as a raw.....which iv tried to do but had no joy?

i think registax is more for video footage, DSS deals with Raw Imagines better....

I assume this is for Lunar or Solar images ... ?

Although Reg5.1 does stack RAW files it takes forever over them , better to convert to TIFFs in either DPP or PIPP first , Reg6 doesn't handle RAWs.

The better option stacking-wise is AS!2 , which can now handle large (3888x2592) DSLR frames , again best with TIFFs.

If you're stacking deep-sky stuff then DSS is the program you need , the newer beta version is required if you have a Canon 1100D or later.
