File structuring.

Just wondering how you guys save all your files on your PC's? Do you have any special format, i.e a folder for Lunar, one for Solar, one for Galaxies etc and inside those more folders organised by date? Or target? Then date inside?

I'm starting to get more and more data now and I want to make it organised and logical.

Thanks,
Phil.

Target, then date,in there one for light, one for dark. Flats and biases for the different configurations, and ISOs  are in a calibration library where masters are kept. I'm working on a collection of master darks indexed by equipment and temperature.--Jack

Would be nice if there was an astro tool that opened a window or spreadsheet where you could select a target and just drag and drop all of the days data and it was auto sorted into flat/dark/bias etc with its correct date time and exposure headers.
