Three nights of IC1795 in Cassiopeia!!

This image of emission nebula IC1795 was taken over three nights, the 3rd, 7th & 9th September. It consists of  just over 10hrs worth of subs containing 26 x 800s Ha, 20 x 450s OIII Bin 2x2 & 15 x 450s SII Bin 2x2 data and is mapped to the classic Hubble Palette colours. I especially like the dark dusty regions in this nebula which show quite a bit of faint wispy detail when imaged at the longer focal lengths. Taken with my LX200ACF scope and QSI683wsg camera from my back garden observatory in Somerset. I hope you like it!!

Pete, that's a really lovely result, well done! I like the colours very much, don't need toning down at all, in my opinion.

Out of interest - what's the f value of this scope? What's the longest subs you've shot? 800s just seems quite 'short' - dare I use that term?! Though the results are deep. It would be interesting to see what longer subs revealed. If anything more... The old question of long subs vs same total time in shorter subs. I digress somewhat.

Is there a QSI683 WSG fan club anywhere - I want to join!

Thanks Gav.

The scope is native F10 but I image using an Optec 6.2 reducer to speed things up a bit and to give an increased FOV.  As far as sub lengths go I could go longer (and have recently tried some 1200s subs) but capturing more 800s subs seems to be the sweet spot for my set up although I probably would go longer on fainter targets in the future.

As far as the QSI fan club goes I'm don't know but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a few yahoo groups or something similar.

That's a stunning image Pete..it's got to be one of the best I've seen of this subject. Lovely detail and the colour rendering make for a truly dramatic take on this one.

Steve

Appreciate that Steve. I'm glad you like it!!

Without doubt one of the top 10 images I've liked - fantastic colours (especially the blue) and detail.

I would buy a print of that.

David

Thanks David...actually I've just had this printed

I think the colours are perfect! Compare with other IC1795 in Astrobin....yours is in my opinion one of the finest.

That's very kind Erik, much appreciated.

That's absolutely superb. Those colours are so vivid.

I am pleased you like the vivid colours...I was thinking of toning them down a bit but with all the positive responses I think i'll leave it as is
