IC1795 in HST Palette

I've seen quite a few different names for this now, the North Bear nebula, Fish Head nebula, Hearth Nebula, so what it's true name is I don't know. Given a choice I would have called it the Acorn Nebula :)  Anyway, IC1795 is located on the W. edge of the Heart Nebula, it is much smaller and is an active star forming region. I had some difficulty processing this data, some very bright patches which tended to saturate quickly.

Taken with my NP127is, Atik490EX, and Losmandy G11 guided with a SX Lodestar. A total of 9hrs 20mins all in 20min subs, stacked in DSS, processed in StarTools and PixInsight.

Ooh, that's wonderful. There is some lovely depth in that image and the colours are beautiful. You have perked up my evening no end while I'm sitting on the sofa keeping an eye on the rig outside through the iPad. I like The Acorn Nebula name too! Great stuff!

What I call this nebula can't be printed on a family forum!!!

Great job I love this object. I have had a couple of attempts myself and I too struggled with the bright area around the, ahem "tip"

but you have caught some great detail in there well done!

Ha Ha, I had a proper chuckle on reading these two posts... I'm relieved to see it's not just my perverse mind that sees masculine things in the 'heart' nebula then...!
