Hello!

I joined up today after finding that everytime I googled a question, the answer was on this site!

I really enjoy star gazing, my favourite taget is Jupiter - it's just awesome.  I've got a Celestron Nexstar 102GT and Ive had a few unsuccessful attempts at photography.

I look forward to taking part in this community!

Hi and welcome to the forum. Regarding the topic of astrophotography (...or the dark side as we like to call it! ) you might want to consider purchasing a book by Steve Richards entitled "Making Every Photon Count". It is a comprehensive guide that will help inform you about the kit you will need along with advice about the best techniques that can help secure you a great final image. Imaging isn't difficult but there is an initial steep learning that can prove a little tricky when you need to bring together several technical elements. The book's advice on equipment will also ensure that you don't buy the wrong kit which might well save you a tidy sum as it is easy to assume that astrophotography is the same as terrestrial photography when in fact there is quite a difference.
