Fujinon 7X50

Hello,

 Someone have used this binoculars for astronomy observations?

 It is best that  the 10X50 model?

I'm very happy with it. I have't the fuji 10x50 but pentax pcf 10x50, i prefer fuji 7x50.

I'm in under a polluted sky... exit pupil bigger but most pleasants views.

The Fujinon should be superior quality to the Pentax (good though as that is, the Fujinon has a HUGE reputation, and not for nothing). I personally prefer 10x50 to 7x50, because the former works just that bit better when conditions are not perfect light-pollution-wise. The darker background means more contrast to me. The advantage of the 7x50 is that they are easier to hold still, but as I frequently use a 15x70 without mount or tripod, this is largely irrelevant to me. That is very much a personal matter, however. If you can try before you buy, that is best.

Twenty years ago I lusted over the mates 10 x 70 Fujinons...they beat everything else hands down....

Here I am, twenty years later, and I still can't afford to buy them!!!

You could always go for the 10.5x70 Orion Resolux I spotted in Sydney Australia (United Optics BA-8). BA-8s are VERY close to Fujinon performance, I am told, but not nearly as expensive

The question that I have is that the 10X50 model is heavy enough to 10X, I think the 7X would be more comfortable, less vibration, no?
Although it also could be used on tripod ..
As for the model Orion Resolux 10.5X70, I understand that a tripod, truth would need?
Someone has compared the Orion model 10,5X70 RESOLUX with Fujinon 10X50?
You know if there is a model Orion Resolux 7X50?

Pepeporras69, You use the Fujinon 7X50 from town or the countryside with dark sky? Do not shake the image?

Nothing to do with ploughing the necessaries into a fraction of the black hole that is decent spectroscopy kit, I suppose...?

My regret is not getting the Tak 22x60 "Astronomer" when I had the opportunity....

Hi Pluton,

Usualy i use "all my equipement" from town (little 38.000hab).

Weekends, i go at countyside with very dark sky.

At town maybe fuji 10x50 better than 7x...

A pseudo Tak astronomer would be built with a pair of taka fs60, isn't the same

But...

I have, since yesterday, a new toy... Apm 28x110... : east from Spain completly

Cloudy at night... 36° degrees Celsius

My Helios Apollo 7x50 seems identical to one the Fujinons, but not nearly as expensive.

Both are from the Kunming United Optics BA8 line, who also make the William Optics UWANs.

I chose the 7x50 because it offers the widest true field of view in the series. These are heavy binoculars at nearly 1.7 kg. Hand holding them above my head is not an option for me so l use a long monopod and let my arms just hang from the binoculars. I really need a monopod for them because the optics in these binoculars are so good that they invite for really long views, often hours on end.

The optics are magnificent: amazingly crisp, bright and contrasty. They are perfect for the sky and marine use. They are also fine for birding except for one aspect: individual eyepiece focussing is not as fast as central focussing.

Depending on which Fujinon you have in mind, you can sometimes save a lot of money by buying the same binoculars under a different brand name.
