Meteorite or not?

Just for fun, here's a little puzzle for you.

One of these rocks in my posession is almost definitely a meteorite, and the other definitely is not. Anyone care to tell which is which? Answer later.

B is meteorite because A has sharp angle on some edges and aerodynamically would drop fat end first color change at mid point might not  be indicative of heat or friction heating on one face it could be change of strata. "A" looks rounded on all visible faces with a surface possible pock marked from heat also both react to a magnet placed near my screen ( rats forgot CRT screen get messed by magnets).

mars bar or galaxy works for me :)

I could be wrong !

B looks to have a slight rollover lip on the underside although it's not entirely clear from the photo.

The outside of A looks just a little too melted, bubbled and crusty to me.

I'll go for B. There are a number of falls that it could be. Gao-Guenie could be one or the more recent Bassiknou fall could be another that produced specimens like that.

A cut and polished face would help identification a lot !

Here they are side-by-side. Well, I never said they were the same size!

A is the meteorite, a tiny Chondrite fragment of the great Chelyabinsk meteorite of 2013 which I bought off a reputable dealer. I say it's almost definitely a meteorite, because how am I to know it really is genuine? I trust the seller, though. Well, I paid enough for it!

B is a piece of river-washed basalt I picked up near Geysir in Iceland a few years ago.

No Jaffa cakes, minty Aeros or anything for correct answers. Sorry.

Well the scale certainly fooled me

Nice brain teaser though Luke.

There were fragments of Chelyabinsk for sale at the SW Astro Fair last month. The dealer was David Bryant of "Spacerocks".

Nice to have a piece of it
