Would this be a good upgrade?

The scope you link to is a Maksutov, this has a primary mirror, then a corrector at the front, a 90mm mak is going to be a bit limited as to what it shows due to a narrow field and longish focal length, for this sort of money a 150p dobsonian would be a very good up grade

Last I read you were overwhelmed by a goto?

The Heritage is not a goto, is it basically a tracking Alt/Az mount where you have to find and center things.

It can I believe be converted to goto but that means buying a different (additional) handset and handsets are simply expensive.

What are you looking for in a scope?

Well I love the goto mount I tried out , I like the bigger aperture of 90mm it was a perfect fit for me. Keeping in mind my husband gives me a limit of what I can spend on stuff (he said around $300 US was doable) I also need the scope to be one that can be easily stored in a corner. I would like a reflector but I am used to refractors more. Pretty much something that wouldn't take too much space in a smallish apartment/flat and can also be easily portable to take on camping trips

Yeah, like has been said before, the telescope you linked just tracks the sky, it's not a true goto. I would advise against getting it since it's neither has a sturdy mounting or true goto, or a very large aperture.

Better put away some money and make a real upgrade later, instead of just settling for small things that dont represnt much of an upgrade. You cannot find a telescope thats good at everything, but a lot of them thats bad at everything. So be smart where you put your money.

Either invest in the optics, get a dobson, or maybe something small like a Skymax 127 OTA could fit on top of an old mount. Or skip the optics for now, and get a real goto mount, and start saving for a new OTA.

I think maybe looking for a scope of a particular aperture might be slightly misleading unless I have misunderstood you. Not a criticism at all, but the focal ratio is the key. I notice from your signature you have an f14, f12 and an f4.something! If you want to treat yourself to a new scope for planetary I would urge you to also look at refractors around f8 or a dobsonian mounted reflector like the above mentioned 150p. Dob mounted scopes are less grab and go than refractors but a long refractor will probably be getting on for a metre anyway. Dobs are quick to set up too.

Bit of a balancing act between form and function!!!

Cheers

M37 no misread at all!! I done the math several times myself. I did start looking into the differences between a funscope and a celestron first scope. Even found a YouTube review from a more experienced person, not much difference other than the funscope can be mounted onto a tripod.
