Calsky alerts

Just recently signed up to Calsky email alerts for ISS Solar transits, checked the site and as far as I can make out one is due Monday from my location but have had no alert, just wondering how long in advance they send out alerts.

I just signed up for alerts and it sent me them pretty much straight away as I have a transit this/next week too.

Double check your home location, I had to do that and once changed the appropriate alert was sent. Also you have to make sure you have the email and alert manager active in your profile.

Getting the correct location into Calsky I have always found to be difficult, actually close to impossible.

Usually I find that even if I supply my Lat and Long it still takes what it determines from my IP address.

I am sure that if they sorted this one aspect out it would be a lot more usable.

Had another look and I'd ticked the wrong box, another confusing site that could do with redesigning with a more consistent interface, can't complain as it's free

Entered my location but next time I looked I'd moved house to Bexleyheath :)

That was essentially my problem too, I had the current long and lat listed which always comes up but it for some reason still had my home location as Belgium so I had to change that. Plus if I change browser it uses the IP address and I can't for the life of me find the log in page. At least in Firefox I'm already logged in.

It is an excellent site but for sure it can do with a reworking.

I know you asked Dave but my transit is 8:48am on Friday. I have already booked time so my wife will leave for work a bit later but I'm a bit concerned with how much light will be on the property at that time so I will do a reccy the day before. I might even have to shoot from the second floor. The weather report is for clouds too so I hope that changes.
