Help identifying this dso

Recommended Posts

First off, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to be asking this. I'm new and still learning the site. Anyway, I've been seeing an object that I cannot identify. It's in the east and more prominent after midnight when it's higher in the sky.

I'm not sure if it's part of Perseus or just next to Perseus. At first, I was thinking it's one of the clusters in Perseus but now I'm not so sure. It's faint but visible and this is with the naked eye. Much to my despair, I don't own a scope or pair of binoculars. If anyone would be so kind as to help me identify this object or give me a list of deep sky objects in that general vicinity would be a great help. Thank you!

Quite possibly the double cluster or "sword handle" in Perseus. Also known as Caldwell 14 and NGC 884 + 869. This is visible to the naked eye as a sort of elongated fuzzy patch below the constellation Cassiopeia and is the brightest deep sky target in Perseus.
