Scosmico
Melotte 20 requires some minutes in the binoculars to take in so much star light.Beautiful colour contrasts, and a lovely rich field of stars. It is interesting to see that Melotte 20 was much nicer to see in my 8x42mm binoculars than the double cluster. In my 12"Dob the double cluster with my wide field eyepiece is a work of celestial art.For me this is a clear example how extraordinary Amateur astronomy is. From naked eye to 27"Dobs. There is so much beauty in the sky.My 8x42mm Binoculars gives me 8.2 degrees of view. It is a swimming pool of stars.I lover rich fields of stars. avtaram
Mellotte 20 along with The Double Cluster are two of my favourites. The Double Cluster is stunning in a 12" Dob but for Mellotte 20 you definitely need Binoculars for the best views. Here is a sketch I did last year of Mellotte 20.Avtar
