Orion starshoot G3 camera vs software issues.

Anyone on here had issues with the software for this camera?? Its a weird one, the camera works fine for a while, then loses connection from the camera.......just shows "cannot connect to camera" and its game over, sometimes you are lucky and can get the camera working again by system restore/reboot/ swap to different ports ect......but its a major hastle and very hit and miss. Ive read somewhere before on forums about this issue, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas, or other software I could try instead on the orion starshoot camera studio supplied. Ive also swapped computers, and used both windows XP and windows 7.............both have the same problem.

i have same camera but used only once due to weather and time to get out with stuff and play

so i cant comment on any issue with it

could it be power problems?

are you using the cooler? if not it is maybe overheating (i don't know just guessing here)

are your usb connections a tight fit? cable not coming loose

also heard that sometimes usb3 ports work then dont at times with camera

Had similar problem with an Atik 314L, would work fine one night and the next time I tried to use it got a "can't connect to camera message" no  amount of faffing about would bring it to life but next morning it worked fine, drove me bonkers as it happened when the skies were clear. I think it was a windows / driver / USB problem and possibly a combination of all three but never actually found the cause unfortunately.

Eventually it seemed to cure itself, possibly an update of some sort and hasn't happened for a while touch wood.

Have you looked in device manager when it's refusing to work to see if it thinks it's working, it'll say something like " this device is working properly" or if it's not it''ll have a yellow exclamation mark against it, may help to narrow down the problem.

in device manager right click on the one showing exclamation mark, and select "update driver software"

make sure you have the cd that came with your camera in the cd drive and get it to search the cd for the driver

or you can ask it to search the internet for a newer version
