First time under dark skies. Wow! Plus an unknown fuzzy.

Went to Leighton Bird Sanctuary (Lancaster Area) at about midnight, what a view! Not a cloud in the sky and hardly any LP. Couple of security lights in the distance but nothing compared to what I'm used too. Never seen the Milky Way arching across the sky before, it was worth going out there just to observe with the naked eye never mind with a telescope. Unfortunately I couldn't stay long only about an hour or so. Got some good views of Bodes Galaxy, Cigar Galaxy and the Pleiades. I also came across a fuzzy just west of Cassiopeia and to the east of Cepheus. If anyone has any ideas on what it might have been that'd be great

I actually found it harder to find my way around the sky as there were more references than I'm used to. Not that I'm complaining though.

Too many stars!! It is a lot easier to star hop when you only have the very brightest stars in your finder.

Jacques seems very plausible.

Had a peek myself before snapping pictures of it, it was very distinct in a 6" newton with moderate LP.

Interesting, It looked like a round grey fuzzy to me, does that sound right? It certainly was in the same area I was looking in and I've not been able to find anything on star maps.
