orion starshoot G3 software issues.

Anyone on here had issues with the software for this camera?? Its a weird one, the camera works fine for a while, then loses connection from the camera.......just shows "cannot connect to camera" and its game over, sometimes you are lucky and can get the camera working again by system restore/reboot/ swap to different ports ect......but its a major hastle and very hit and miss. Ive read somewhere before on forums about this issue, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas, or other software I could try instead on the orion starshoot camera studio supplied. Ive also swapped computers, and used both windows XP and windows 7.............both have the same problem.

Hi there - I have just been able to use the latest version of this software with the Orion G3 Deep space Colour CCD and this actually works very well!!!  Gone are all the old crashes and the processing also works, though it does need a little bit more work.  It took me a while to realise that you have to colour convert every image at the Calibrate stage - there is no batch facility.  Once you do that it works very well.  If they could do some kind of decent instruction manual that would make this an excellent addition to what looks to be an excellent camera.
