strong colour cast

In Ps - Window, open Histogram and all channel view. Your three colour channels should, for starters, have the top left of the histo pedestal in about the same place, like this;

You can only move the pedestals to the left (by moving the bottom left black point sliders to the right) so try aligning he channels like that first.

This was the result I got after running my lights, darks and flats through DSS, non of my other images have given me this result?

maybe I need to go check my DSS settings, I have a strong feeling that's where the problem lies. I shouldn't get this hue straight from DSS.

As Olly points out, your channels are not aligned, plus they look rather weird.

If you have'nt done it tick the Align RGB channels in the final image, it's under the drizzle boxes.

Very good advice, I don't think those flats are working either. I think Neil has a little tinkering to do with DSS settings.

I uninstalled DSS and reinstalled it making sure it is version 3.3.4, then I went through the process again and it gave me one of those files that is 358kbytes with no information, not to be beaten I went through  the process again and this time I got an image with the same histogram as my first effort and an image full of white and purple lines.....am I going to be better off with nebulosity? the thing is though it has worked fine up to now and I know lots of you people use DSS.

I didn't fiddle with RGB channel alignment setting yet so i'll do it again with that checked.

as olly said,you need histogram to look similar to shown

use the sliders in dss to move your red and blue channel to line up with green,then apply to see difference

you can then move all 3 further to left to darken ,just try to keep all peaks lined up

It may be just the way DSS is displaying the data... what happens when you save with adjustments embedded and take the file over to PS ?

The other thing to do is have DSS construct a custom WB and align the RGB channels... Use these settings..

Note the bottom of the window.. Align RGB channels... use whatever stacking options you need for your data in the rest.

ok so I uninstalled all files pertaining to DSS and downloaded the 3.3.2 version again, then I went and downloaded the 3.3.4 version and same result, is there a codec or something I need to get this to work with my Canon T3?....I don't get it, everything fine then just stopped working......

 I don't know what I did but now it all works, I fiddled with something and moved some files.....ahhhh.....moved some files, I think I moved the 3.3.4 files into the same directory as the 3.3.2 files.....would that have made any difference?

Hey Neil, I had a similar problem, I had a folder in another folder dedicated to the stacked DSS images, however, the stacked image would look like your results. After taking the folder where the stacked image is saved and moving it to the desktop, everything was fine.
