Hi all,

Kev here from New Zealand. I live on the Coromandel Peninsula which is where a lot of people choose to take their holidays (always a good measure of living in the right place).

I work as a biodiversity ranger for the Government's conservation agency - really love the work, but have always had an interest in the stars too.

When I was younger I had my hopes pinned on being an astronomer, only later did I realise that's it's really hard work to actually get paid for this and it's not simply a case of taking control of the Hubble and gazing leisurely at gorgeous galaxies :embarrassed: .

Looking forward to meeting the community here and learning more.

I have been blessed with brighter skies in the past, unfortunately close to a rather large city - Auckland (blergh). There's also a very inconvenient street light in an unfortunate place. To be fair it's pretty good, beats being in the middle of a city.
