Globular clusters are spherical and compact especially towards the centre what you have found is an open cluster, more irregular and spread out hope this helps.Download stellarium and use the ocular plug in with your eyepiece details this will enable you to see exactly what you should see through the eyepiece.Good luck

All the clusters you see will have a name of some kind, its just a case of getting a positive ID on what you are seeing through the EP then starting the sketch.

Do you know what the cluster you sketched is called?

im not sure what it is, i was just scanning the sky and drew a cluster that looked nice :grin:

i don't think its NGC 663 its too far away from where i was

it was in the area of NGC 886
