Time to get back in!

I'm sure there are others threads along the same line but thought I'd just mark it. Haven't even thought of getting the scope out in months, but the sky is simply beautiful tonight! The Milky Way is beautifully visible, and stoking the ol' astro fire again. Got the binocs out and just cruising. Reasonably dark as well. Lovely. Now have to tidy the garage as Livingstone wouldn't find the scope in there!

Thanks Mike

Yeah, very much looking forward to getting out there for a late one. Would like to get a weekend with good weather to go camping with the family before it gets too cold though. Weather has been good but for one reason or another, it just hasn't happened. Last night was good though. Could picture myself out the back garden lost in space

I occasionally go through spells like this where work, family and life ingeneral just seem to get in the way of the hobby. Every summer I seem to question my commitment, but with the short nights its not suprising as you can only really catch some observing very late on and even then the sky is so light its not that rewarding.

I keep reminding myself though that astronomy is a hobby so it doesnt matter if I have spells like this, as long as I still enjoy it.

So, roll on the winter skies, when i can catch a couple of hours under dark skies as soon as I get in from work.

Cheers
