SGL8 lunar shot reprocessed - my app..

A super thin moon at SGL allowed the use of the 383L on the back of the Pentax 4" APO with a televue 2x to give 1340mm focal length f13. Or it may have ben at the native 670mm.. I can't remember now :D

I've written my own stacking software for fast/realtime processing of images - however it will cope with the 17.1MB images from the 383L. The majority of the postings have been in the video forum but I thought I'd show what it can do with lunar:

Here's a full frame jpeg:

Pixinsight auto-stretch and zoom - showing the noise and the area using pixinsight to zoom in (using bicubic splines for nicer appearance):

My app, screenshot, after grading, PSF deconv of the scope's airy disk, grading (rejecting 7 of the 19 on the fly), aligning and then stacking with a drizzle using bi-linear interpolation and the sub-pixel alignment of the 12 accepted images.

Scrolling around..

I'm still developing this - I want to add the better interpolation and on the fly sharpening

Since taking these I have got myself a 5x TV so at some point I'll get the faster camera out on this and take a realtime video.
