Celestron 8SE

Can anybody tell me if the dovetail on the Celestron 8SE will fit on a Vixen type mount, ie: Skywatcher EQ5 Pro.

Yes - I put mine on NEQ6

If you go a head and get the OTA, I would look at upgrading the saddle on your EQ5 if you haven't already done so,

I had a number of squeeky bum moments watching some of the angles of my C8 thinking it was going to fall with the standard saddle.

The saddle on the NEQ6 is an excellent fit for the 8SE, if you can get one like it for your chosen mount then everything should be fine.  Just need to make sure it is seated correctly otherwise a small knock may make it slip.  Worth spending money on.
