Had the nephew down last night and was showing him the ropes, we started with saturn but it wasn't properly dark, still saw two or three moons that got a wow.

As it dimmed we swung over to albireo and he was flabbergasted, to quote "such a tiny dot of light can be so amazing" as he saw the coloured double.

Finished off with some fuzzy hunting and hit m57 Smokey doughnut lol. M27 saw a slight narrowing of the middle. And finally m13 a fuzzy blob with sign of mottling and a few stray members on the edge.

Finished off with a binocular tour of constellations and astetisms.

Pretty good night, never really got full dark, and called it quits at half twelve.

Ps pretty sure I caught a bit of milky way near Cygnus up towards zenith

While the peace and solitude of this hobby is nice.

There is nothing to beat sharing it with someone who gets a real kick out of it!

I've got to check out Albireo. I've only ever used it for navigation. :)
