Carson Hookupz IB-542

Had some relatively clear sky for a while tonight so I thought I would try out the adapter.

I took a number of shots of Mars as well as video and I also took a couple of long exposures, all with my iPhone.

Here is the best shot of Mars:

Here is my best Star Trail, I obviously caught a satellite travelling perpendicular to the stars.

Both of these shots are straight off the camera, no editing yet.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to get my head around stacking frames from the video I shot, never done it before so wish me luck.

Regards..,

Here is my attempt at using Registax 6 to stack the 2.5 min video of Mars that I took.

Not high quality but surprised that it has come out at all and this final image compared to the original is actually a vast improvement.

Maybe with a clearer night and more practice I may get something better.

I only started this thread as a test bed for the Carson Hookupz IB-542 adaptor kit and to that extent, the kit has worked flawlessly and it basically 'Does What It Says On The Tin'.

Anyway, here's the processed image.

Hi! I've only just heard of the HookUpz but it sounds great. I use Helios Apollo 22 x 85 bins and was reluctant to give the HookUpz a whizz but I think you have persuaded me - cheers!

I don't really want to get into imaging in a big way, but this bit of kit sounds right up my street.
